As part of the Sparrow Project, we're expanding the possibilities of ecological research by integrating aerial drone technology to capture a bird’s-eye view of our ecosystems. Working with experienced drone pilots, we aim to document critical environmental data from the skies, giving us unprecedented insight into the land, vegetation, and air quality that’s essential for understanding and preserving our natural world.
Drones allow us to access areas that are difficult, dangerous, or even impossible to reach on foot. From forests and wetlands to mountain ranges and coastlines, aerial footage captured by drones gives us a macro perspective of ecosystems and how they’re evolving over time. This data can be pivotal in tracking deforestation, water levels, vegetation health, and more.

We’re looking for both advanced drone operators and recreational pilots who want to make a difference. Whether you’re flying an advanced drone with topographic mapping and air-sensing technology or just starting with your recreational drone, you can contribute valuable aerial footage to the project.
If you’re a recreational drone pilot, we’re offering discounted training to help you pass the FAA Part 107 exam, which will certify you as a Remote Pilot in Command (Remote PIC). This certification will allow you to take your drone skills to the next level and contribute to more advanced missions within the Sparrow Project.
